ABOUT ABOUT

Broadway Guam, in conjunction with Step Up Entertainment & Dance Company presents a new production of MISS SAIGON on December 2 and 3 at Southern High Theater at 7:00 PM.

Based on Giacomo Puccini’s opera Madame Butterfly, Miss Saigon tells of an epic love story about an American G.I soldier, Chris who is bought the services of a 17-year-old war-orphaned Vietnamese girl, Kim. Set in the 1970’s Vietnamese War, their story is a moving testiment to the human spirit that spans continents, and changes lives forever.

Written by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and Alain Boublil, and orchestration by William D. Brohn, Miss Saigon is herald as Schönberg and Boublil’s second success following Les Misérables winning 3 Tony Awards in 1991, and swept the board at the 2014 BWW:UK Awards after its West End revival 25 years later.

Miss Saigon was premiered on September of 1989 in London with over four thousand performances before re-opening in Broadway in
1991, subsequently touring in many other cities. Prior to the revival in 2014 in London, Miss Saigon claimed record box office sales.
